Monthly lists are of tracts entered pursuant to acts of Congress (Feb. 11, 1847 and Sept. 28, 1850) granting military bounty land. For each tract entries include Register's and Receiver's numbers; warrant number and date; acreage; warrantee name; tract legal description; location date; person by whom located; and occasional notes of withdrawn or suspended warrants.

The Shawneetown Land District Office was created by an act of Congress on February 21, 1812.
